Saphai Part Time

“Part-Time Daughter-in-Law” tells the story of Napat, a beautiful, intelligent young woman whose looks often bring her trouble. Wherever she works, she encounters flirtatious bosses or coworkers who harass her. When she rejects them, some spread rumors that she has slept with them, while others go to extreme lengths to win her over. When their wives find out, they create scenes at her workplace, forcing her to quit again and again.
Her life becomes even harder when her mother, Supa, falls seriously ill with kidney disease and needs expensive treatment, while her younger sister Preeya still requires money for school. Desperate, Napat decides to become a con artist, targeting wealthy, womanizing men to fund her family’s needs. Under the guidance of Pa Phaew, an experienced swindler nearing retirement, Napat learns various tricks—posing as a bar girl to drug rich men and rob them, or pretending to be an innocent woman to marry men and run away with their dowry.
Meanwhile, Wit, a stern widower and successful businessman, has remained single since his wife’s death. He distrusts women and warns his friend Peera about marrying a woman he barely knows, suspecting she might be a scammer. But Peera is deeply in love with “Sumitra,” unaware that she is actually Napat in disguise. Eventually, Napat scams him and disappears with his dowry.
Later, Napat crosses paths with Wit when she drugs and robs him as well, sparking his determination to track her down. Fate brings them together again when Wit’s son, Warit, falls in love with Napat and brings her home—only for Wit to realize she is the same woman who deceived him. Conflict erupts as Wit opposes their relationship, believing she will exploit his son.
However, Wit’s mother, Prangmas, sees goodness in Napat and invites her to live with the family. On a friend’s advice, Wit hires Napat to pretend to be his wife, hoping his son will see her true nature and lose interest. Reluctantly, Napat agrees due to her mother’s worsening condition.
Life as a “part-time daughter-in-law” proves difficult. Wit constantly monitors her, while she fights back with mischievous behavior, especially against Kulaya, who resents her. Meanwhile, Peera reappears and still loves Napat despite everything, though she insists she wants to change and live honestly.
As time passes, Napat and Wit grow closer, especially during a family trip. Wit begins to see her in a new light, realizing she is more than just a beautiful woman—she is clever, resilient, and kind. Just as their relationship deepens, tragedy strikes: Napat’s mother is murdered during a burglary. Devastated, Napat believes it is karma for her past actions.
Wit, now understanding her struggles, supports her and asks her to abandon her life of crime. However, more complications arise when Warit falls into gambling debt, and Napat secretly borrows money from Peera to help him. Wit misunderstands, thinking she is scamming again, leading to further conflict.
Eventually, Napat’s past is exposed, even to her sister, who feels betrayed. Heartbroken, Napat disappears. Wit later finds her living a humble life as a flower seller with Pa Phaew. Realizing how much she has changed him and his family, Wit struggles to admit his love.
With encouragement from those around him, and after misunderstandings are cleared—including Warit finding true love with Preeya—Wit finally confesses his feelings. Napat, who has long been conflicted about her emotions, admits she cannot deny what she feels.
In the end, Wit sincerely proposes to her. Napat accepts through tears, and they begin a new life together—this time with honesty, love, and no more deception.
