Synopsis
Worathep Surasit, a wealthy resort owner, is gravely ill. He gathers all his heirs to announce his will. Everyone is shocked to learn that part of his inheritance is left to a granddaughter—an unknown heir—born to his youngest son, Burin, who has already passed away.
This revelation prompts Paramet and Paramee, siblings related to Savika, Worathep’s wife, to travel to Bangkok in search of the mysterious heir. They eventually find JanJao, Burin’s daughter, living in a cramped guesthouse rented out to foreigners.
JanJao is 18 years old, with a tomboy style, and is under the care of Mali Kalaya, a singer who also runs a fraudulent spirit-medium business to make ends meet. JanJao often assists her, sometimes even acting as a medium herself. Having lived abroad until the age of 10, she can speak English and French fluently. After her father’s death, she returned to Thailand.
Strangely, JanJao occasionally experiences real visions and has helped people in distress, earning respect from the locals. However, she is also frightened by her own mysterious abilities—especially when Paramet and Paramee test her by asking her to enter a trance. During one session, JanJao sees a glowing spirit sitting nearby, whispering for her to follow Paramet back to the estate.
Mali refuses at first, fearing JanJao will be deceived, but Paramet insists that JanJao must come under his legal guardianship. JanJao agrees, partly because she wants to learn about her mother, whom she has never known.
As time passes, JanJao begins seeing the glowing spirit more frequently, which frightens her, Mali, and her young companion Khao Tom Mad. Paramet brings JanJao and Khao Tom Mad to the Surasit Resort, where he tries to mold her into a proper heir of a noble family. However, JanJao’s wild and unruly behavior causes chaos, forcing Paramet to discipline her strictly.
