Thanakorn, a wealthy mine owner, falls in love with Khru Prapa, the daughter of one of his workers. However, Prapa is already in love with Methee. Despite this, her father forces her to marry Thanakorn.
On the wedding day, Prapa tries to run away with Methee, but Thanakorn catches up with them. His henchmen shoot Methee, sending him falling off a cliff. Everyone believes Methee is dead. Prapa then marries Thanakorn and has two sons with him: Khuanphet and Alongkot.
Khuanphet, the eldest, is constantly suspected by Thanakorn of being Prapa’s child with Methee. After Prapa dies, Khuanphet is sent to live at the mine, where he is raised to be tough and fearless like a fighter. In contrast, Alongkot is spoiled by Thanakorn and grows up carefree, never taking life seriously. Thanakorn also keeps his distance from Khuanphet and refuses to let him call him “father,” leaving Khuanphet feeling deeply hurt.
Meanwhile, Dokrak, a female mine worker, is assaulted and becomes pregnant, later giving birth to a daughter. Feeling sympathy, Khuanphet takes in the child, Chompoo, as his own.
Thanakorn, on the other hand, brings Saowaros—the daughter of his close friend who suddenly passed away—to live in his house. This leads Khuanphet to misunderstand that she is his father’s new wife, and he treats her with disrespect. At the same time, Saowaros believes Khuanphet is irresponsible for neglecting his “wife” and child, assuming Dokrak and Chompoo are his family living in hardship.
Because of these misunderstandings, the two constantly clash. One day, their argument escalates—Khuanphet forcefully kisses Saowaros to “teach her a lesson” and even throws her into the water. Needing to change clothes, Saowaros goes into his bedroom, where she discovers his diary and, unable to resist, opens it to read.
