Traichak and Trethep are best friends from very different backgrounds. Traichak is an orphan who lives with his grandmother and his younger sister, Khruawan, who lives with a physical disability. In contrast, Trethep grew up in a household consumed by constant conflict, an environment that instilled in him a fierce hatred of poverty.
After his father is beaten to death and his mother is sent to prison, Trethep moves in with Traichak's family. Behind closed doors, Trethep takes advantage of their proximity and Khruawan’s vulnerability, using her to satisfy his youthful lust without anyone's knowledge.
Both young men eventually pass the entrance exams for their desired university faculties. It is there they meet Wetita, the beautiful "star" of the Faculty of Arts. While both friends fall deeply in love with her, Wetita ultimately gives her heart to Traichak—leaving Trethep to watch from the sidelines, consumed by a growing sense of envy.
