Synopsis
Thanit, the owner of Punyarat Construction, takes his own life to escape mounting problems. His death forces his two sons, Tang and Tong—who are studying in the United States—to return to Thailand. Kamala, Thanit’s wife, considers selling the business because she feels incapable of managing it. However, Tang, the elder son, decides to quit his studies and step in to save the company.
At Thanit’s funeral, a woman named Nujaree introduces herself to Tang as the owner of Thewa Construction and an old friend of his father—someone Thanit had secretly supported in business. Tang struggles to gain acceptance from the board of directors, especially from Somchai, a key partner who has ambitions to take over the executive position.
As Tang begins managing the company, suspicious issues start to surface. Due to Somchai’s manipulation and sabotage, dissatisfaction grows among the executives, leading some to withdraw their shares and demand large sums of money back. Overwhelmed, Tang eventually turns to Nujaree for advice and receives strong support from her.
Meanwhile, his mother and younger brother Tong continue to create problems and add to his stress. Tang’s girlfriend, A-Care, who also suffered from her father’s suicide due to economic hardship, understands him deeply and stands by his side.
On the other hand, Tong takes advantage of Tang’s busy schedule to get close to A-Care. Her family’s dessert business begins to do well, but tragedy strikes when her mother is severely injured in a car accident and hospitalized.
Tang must face numerous challenges, drawing strength from a symbolic golden junk boat model left by his father, which represents guidance and perseverance. When Somchai discovers that Nujaree is secretly helping Tang, he threatens to withdraw his shares.
In matters of love, Tong tries to win over A-Care. When kindness fails, he turns to cruelty—spreading rumors that Tang is romantically involved with Nujaree, which angers A-Care and her mother. Tong himself realizes his wrongdoing in developing feelings for a woman connected to his father. When he learns that A-Care does not love him, he commits a grave crime by assaulting her.
Despite the overwhelming problems in his life, Tang is determined not to run away like his father did. He believes that every problem has a solution.
As for how Tang will resolve all the conflicts surrounding him, his story continues in Sampao Thong (The Golden Junk).
