“Yok,” who was once an orphan living with his grandfather, is now a writer approaching the age of 70. He has only one son, Sila, who is married to Rampai and has a family of his own. Due to certain circumstances, Sila must bring his wife and their two children—Tawan, a teenager preparing for university entrance exams, and Taleck, a mischievous 9-year-old boy—to live together again as an extended family.
This reunion gives Yok the chance to rediscover and rebuild one of the most important bonds in his life—the bond of family. Now, in his roles as both a father and a grandfather, Yok must pass on wisdom, moral guidance, and life lessons to the younger generations.
Following in his own father’s footsteps, Yok teaches his children and grandchildren to live a balanced and sufficient life, embracing moderation and self-sufficiency as the path to happiness and prosperity. The story also aims to inspire Thai people to live according to the royal initiatives of His Majesty the King, the beloved “Father of the Nation,” under whose benevolence they live.
