Synopsis
Aoy Kwan is a young girl who is actually the daughter of Princess Boonyawong, a noblewoman from a minority kingdom who fled an invasion. Before dying, the princess’s mother entrusted her to a loyal servant named Saang, and they hid among refugees in Thailand under false identities.
Meanwhile, Nattawut, a wealthy man in his forties, lives with his wife Sineenart, who cannot have children. They adopt a boy named Nattathorn. When Nattawut visits a refugee camp for charity, he meets Boonyawong and falls deeply in love with her. Their relationship leads to Boonyawong becoming pregnant.
Sineenart discovers the truth and threatens Boonyawong, forcing her to give up the child in exchange for safety. Boonyawong agrees for the sake of her baby and gives birth to a daughter named Suay Yong (“Golden Rabbit”). She then leaves for the United States, leaving the child with Saang to deliver to Nattawut.
However, tragedy strikes—Sineenart dies in a car accident before receiving the child, and Saang is killed during a riot in the refugee camp. The baby is lost in the chaos and eventually sold to a beggar woman named Somjai, who renames her Aoy Kwan and forces her into a life of begging.
A Difficult Childhood
Aoy Kwan grows up enduring abuse and hardship but shows natural talent in singing and dancing, which helps her survive. She is later kidnapped by a trafficking gang but bravely leads other children in an escape—though she is severely beaten.
She eventually escapes again and survives on the streets with a stray dog named Muli, her only companion. Despite her suffering, she remains kind-hearted and dreams of finding her mother.
A New Life
A kind woman named Aunt Metta helps Aoy Kwan enter an orphanage run by Mother Pranee, where she is given a new name: Kotchakorn. She receives an education and grows into a strong, beautiful young woman, though she continues to face bullying.
Meanwhile, Nattawut never stops searching for his lost daughter. His adopted son, Nattathorn, also helps by sponsoring orphanages and searching for clues.
Aoy wins a writing contest titled “Where Are You, Mom?” and is chosen to be adopted—though she never meets her mysterious sponsor. Unknown to her, it is actually Nattathorn, who supports her from afar, sending money, gifts, and guidance through letters.
Growing Up & Hidden Truths
Aoy grows up, attends a prestigious school, and later university. She becomes a talented designer. Throughout her life, she longs to meet her “father,” not knowing his true identity.
At the same time, Boonyawong returns to Thailand searching for her lost daughter, assisted by Nattawut and Nattathorn.
The Truth Revealed
The turning point comes when a necklace Aoy has worn since childhood is rediscovered. It bears the names “Boonyawong” and “Suay Yong.” This proves her true identity.
Mother and daughter finally reunite in an emotional moment. Nattawut is revealed as her real father. Even more shocking—Aoy realizes that the mysterious man who supported her all along is Nattathorn, the same man she knows in real life.
Final Conflict & Happy Ending
A greedy woman named Makhin, who knows the truth, kidnaps Aoy and Mother Pranee for ransom. Nattathorn rescues them successfully, and the criminals are arrested.
In the end, Aoy is officially acknowledged as the daughter of Nattawut and Boonyawong. Friends celebrate her happiness, and her relationship with Nattathorn blossoms.
The story concludes with a joyful reunion and a romantic dance—symbolizing love, destiny, and the long journey of a lost child finally finding her true family.
