Sao Chai Kon Mai

Damrassiri had just held a celebration for graduating with first-class honors in the Faculty of Arts earlier that day. She was radiant, fresh, and happier than ever—only to discover that her entire world would collapse in an instant. The very next day, her parents, Damri and Jarasri, passed away at the same time, leaving behind an inheritance.
It was an inheritance that Damrassiri had to manage as carefully as possible to support her livelihood, as well as the long-time household staff. She leased out the large house she once lived in to the government, while she herself moved into a small pink-painted building within the same compound. She lived frugally on the inherited cash and earned only a modest income as a novelist writing for a weekly magazine.
Her life might have continued simply, if not for a storm-like turn of events. The novel she had been writing for the magazine was heavily criticized by readers, prompting the editor—unable to withstand the backlash—to ask her to end the story immediately and remove her from her position as a regular writer. Unable to continue her writing career, Damrassiri was forced to find new work.
She still had installment payments for household appliances, and the staff needed their wages—especially Mae Pui, her nanny who had raised her since childhood and loved her dearly. Damrassiri decided to rent out her pink building and planned to disguise herself as a maid, but Mae Pui strongly objected. Instead, she went to live with Mae Pui’s relatives. Before that, she and Mae Pui had visited her close university friend, a Lao princess named Chao Khamkaew.
The tenant of the pink building turned out to be a young writer named Phait. Mae Pui signed a one-year lease agreement with him, promising that once they returned from their business, she would come back to work as a housemaid.
