Synopsis
Ko is a handsome, charismatic young man who is as sharp as his name suggests. Despite having graduated with a bachelor's degree from Rajabhat University some time ago, he hasn't been able to find a steady job. Ko eventually decides to take his father’s van and work for tour companies, driving Thai and foreign tourists to various attractions, golf courses, and the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.
Som-o is the daughter of a prominent fruit orchard owner in the district. Since she was a child, she has followed her mother, Mae Phut, to sell fruit at the floating market, often accompanied by her older sister, Angun. Even after Som-o and Angun graduated with their own degrees, they continued to paddle their boats and sell fruit with their mother as always. Som-o’s dream of becoming a flight attendant and working in Bangkok feels like a fading glimmer, as her father, Pho Phrao, refuses to let his daughters work far from his sight.
Whenever they go to sell goods, Som-o and Angun have a side hustle that brings in a decent income: flashing sweet smiles and taking photos with foreign tourists in exchange for them buying fruit. Sometimes, generous tourists even leave hefty tips.
One day, Ko brings a group of tourists to the floating market. When he sees Som-o’s radiant, enchanting smile as she poses with the visitors, he is instantly smitten by her friendliness. Little does he know that this is simply Som-o’s professional expertise; she’s been trained to "work the smile" since she was little. In reality, she is spunky, sharp-tongued, and quite a handful.
The image of the sweet-faced merchant haunts Ko’s dreams. He investigates until he discovers that Som-o is the youngest daughter of Pho Phrao, a stingy orchard owner who carries himself with the authority of a village headman. Ko tries to win Som-o over by getting on her father’s good side. He begins "accidentally" bumping into Pho Phrao at village shops and coffee houses, striking up conversations about politics and general trivia to build a bond. However, breaking through is proving difficult, as Pho Phrao is quick to see through his game.
