Synopsis
When a young boy named Katha Rombun rises to challenge the spirit world, a full-scale ghost-hunting mission begins. He is joined by Khun Nee, also known as Mae Tani—a female spirit forever frozen at the age of 25—and the playful water spirit Praysai Than, who emerges from her mystical realm to join the fun.
Since ghost hunting becomes his calling, Katha realizes he can no longer live an ordinary life. To chase, capture, and defeat spirits, he must rely on modern technology—digital talismans, green tea holy water spray, electric rice cookers, banana bombs, and many other inventive tools.
Katha is the eldest son of Decha and Wanee, middle-ranking officials in the Ministry of Public Health, living a modest life. He has two younger brothers, Akom and Opas. Fascinated by archaeology, Katha also possesses a unique gift: he can see spirits. His grandfather once told him this is because of his sensitive mind, and that he has been accompanied by a Tani spirit since childhood.
The first time Katha encountered Mae Tani was when a thief broke into his house. She appeared before him—though his brothers could not see her—dressed in a traditional green sash, claiming to be an elder relative. Using her supernatural powers, she scared the thief away.
From that day on, Katha continued to see her. Mae Tani became a constant presence in his life, which worried his parents, as she often came to visit and play with him. Katha even drew her portrait and hung it on the wall—during the day, he would go talk to her by the banana grove, and at night, he would speak to her through the picture.
