Synopsis

Vayu has spent many years in monkhood and reached the level of Maha, but he eventually disrobes to take care of his ill father until his passing. After that, Vayu becomes a teacher at Sondee Wittaya School, where he applies Buddhist teachings to guide troubled students. Those who are particularly rebellious are sent to his “cooling room,” which makes many students dislike him.
Rabkaewan, a student teacher intern, comes to train at the school after reading about it in Kinya’s online diary. Vayu assumes that no attractive intern would come to such a remote place, but he is surprised to find that Rabkaewan is beautiful, smart, and modern. Despite his strong discipline, he finds himself charmed by her and secretly sends her the song “True Love” to her phone—though she doesn’t know it’s from him.
Meanwhile, two boys, Priao and Dam, are sent by a monk to study at the school. They are happy to escape temple chores, believing they will live comfortably under the care of Det, whom they assume is the principal—but he is actually just the janitor. Det arranges for them to help with school work in exchange for tuition.
They befriend Chem, a slow and quiet student, hoping to copy his homework—but instead end up struggling because of his sluggish nature. Other students include Kapom, the boastful village headman’s son who loves showing off modern gadgets; Hawmok, who fears nothing except studying; and Nuyae, who lacks confidence and struggles to make decisions. Priao and Dam often clash with Kapom but share a mutual dislike for studying.
Vayu and Rabkaewan try to encourage students to love reading by setting up a library. However, the old library is in ruins. Rabkaewan recalls from Kinya’s diary that a woman named Anong is willing to sponsor a new library. With her support, they build a modern library equipped with computers and multimedia tools.
Still, Priao and Dam only use the library to nap or skip Vayu’s class. So Vayu and Rabkaewan come up with a plan: they organize a thank-you event for Anong and require students to perform a play, or face punishment. The students seek advice, and Vayu encourages them to research and prepare on their own in the library.
They decide to perform Phra Aphai Mani, specifically the episode where Sin Samut defeats the sea ogress. Each student takes a role: Chem as Phra Aphai Mani, Dam as the sea ogress, Priao as the hermit, Hawmok as Sin Samut, Kapom as the mermaid, and Nuyae as the mermaid’s father. Through rehearsals, they actively use knowledge from the library.
On performance day, chaos erupts when Dam becomes embarrassed about playing a female role and argues with Chem, leading to a fight between groups. Teachers intervene and send them to the “cooling room.”
Despite this, the students still don’t develop a love for reading, leaving Rabkaewan discouraged. Vayu comforts her and encourages a new teaching approach—letting students actively search for answers themselves. Gradually, through trial and confusion, the students realize that books are not boring but valuable, and they eventually grow to love reading.
As Rabkaewan’s internship ends, the students feel sad. They prepare a farewell performance for her. At the end of the event, Vayu finally reveals himself by singing “True Love” on stage. Rabkaewan is shocked to discover he was the one sending her the song all along.
Vayu tells her he will remain in the rural village of Luem Bamrung, and Rabkaewan promises that after graduating, she will return to become a rural teacher—helping him “give wings of knowledge” to all the children.
