Namphueng, a dedicated teacher at a local sub-district school, is facing a crushing crisis. Her parents mortgaged their land to a powerful local influential figure, Sia Songyot, who is now threatening to seize it. Songyot offers a predatory deal: he will clear the debt if Namphueng becomes his mistress. With both of her parents falling seriously ill, Namphueng is desperate. Her family friend, Phan, takes her to seek help from a wealthy man named Terd.
Upon their first meeting, Namphueng is met with hostility from Terd’s aggressive son, Nan, and cold disdain from Terd himself. Terd agrees to pay off her debts, but with strict conditions: Namphueng must live in his house, serve him, and act as a private tutor to reform the rebellious Nan. Namphueng accepts the deal and retrieves her land title from a furious Sia Songyot.
As Namphueng settles into Terd's home, her hard work and sincerity begin to soften Terd's heart. However, Nan constantly sabotages her efforts. Meanwhile, Sia Songyot continues to harass her, even attempting to kidnap her from the house, though Terd and his men manage to rescue her. Concerned for her safety, Terd teaches Namphueng how to shoot and gives her a gun for self-defense.
Eventually, Namphueng’s kindness breaks through Nan’s defenses; he agrees to go to school in the city, much to Terd’s delight. However, feeling jealous of the growing bond between his father and the teacher, Nan calls his aunt, Tuenjai, to intervene. Tuenjai arrives at the ranch, acting as if she owns the place and openly claiming Terd. She maliciously frames Namphueng, claiming she saw her being intimate with a frequent visitor named Prathueang.
One evening, fueled by alcohol and jealousy after seeing Namphueng talking to Prathueang, Terd drives the man away and forces himself upon Namphueng. Despite the traumatic turn, Terd shows a softer side by bringing Namphueng’s parents home from the hospital once they recover. Namphueng is overjoyed to see them, and the day finally comes when her parents bring enough money to "buy back" her freedom from Terd. While the household staff is saddened by her departure, Tuenjai is thrilled to have her rival gone.
The story takes a dark turn involving Chatchai, Sia Songyot’s business partner. They are smuggling illegal timber and narcotics across the border and need Terd to open a mountain pass through his land. When Terd refuses, Chatchai kidnaps Namphueng and Nan as leverage. Terd coordinates with the police while infiltrating the sawmill at night. In a tense standoff, Chatchai threatens to lower Nan into a massive industrial saw blade. Tuenjai unexpectedly pulls a gun on Chatchai, allowing Terd to rush to the aid of his son and Namphueng. As the police raid the facility, a brutal fight ensues. Chatchai loses his footing and falls into the saw blade, meeting a gruesome end.
With the danger past, Terd begs Namphueng to stay with him. In a touching moment of redemption, Nan finally calls Namphueng "Mother." The three embrace in a circle of love, bringing joy to everyone at the ranch.
