Synopsis

Luang Phi Jamrat, a foreign monk devoted to Buddhism, has ordained and studies the Dhamma while guiding and teaching the temple children—Noom, Mike, Long, Go, and even kids from nearby homes like Tangkwa, the daughter of Yai Toi (a curry vendor), Meng, the son of a gold shop owner, and Ying, the daughter of Khunying Mornsri, a landlady. He strives to help them live together in harmony.
However, the people in the community constantly bring him trouble. Together with Ta Hwaeng, the temple layman, he must keep resolving various issues. For example, George, a temple boy, gets into fights with vocational students from another area, forcing the monk to intervene and nearly get injured. Mike, with his sharp tongue, ends up gambling on football and falling into debt, requiring help from his friends and the monk to repay it. Ta Hwaeng brings his grandson to stay at the temple, only for the boy to become a thief and cause chaos. Noom invites a friend to live with him, but the friend scams money from Khunying Mornsri. Go nearly falls into drug addiction due to bad influences.
Problems also arise from people outside the temple—villagers obsessed with the lottery end up in jail, while Toi, dreaming of wealth, takes on more goods to sell than she can handle and falls deeply into debt. There are even dangers from outsiders during a temple merit-making event, where scammers attempt to exploit Ying and Tangkwa. Fortunately, thanks to Luang Phi’s wisdom and the help of the temple children, they manage to escape safely.
Despite the many hardships, everyone in the temple community learns to overcome their struggles through Luang Phi’s teachings, which are grounded in Buddhist principles. After each problem is resolved, he reflects on the lessons learned and connects them to Buddhist proverbs, sharing these teachings online to promote a righteous way of life in accordance with Buddhist values.
