The story explores the profound power of familial love and how a strong emotional foundation helps one navigate life’s obstacles with happiness. Mayawi, or Yawi, is the cherished only daughter of Met, a billionaire tycoon, and Wiphawi, a brilliant businesswoman who has managed the family empire alongside her husband.
On her 17th birthday, Yawi receives a gift far more precious than a luxury car or the latest smartphone. Her parents perform a traditional wrist-binding ceremony using sacred white threads (Sai Sin) saved from their own wedding ceremony years ago. These simple threads, weathered by time, symbolize the immense love and stability that have shaped Yawi into a young woman of perfect standing.
Yawi is the "star" of Bangkok’s most prestigious private school—gifted with intelligence, beauty, wealth, and high social status. Her life as a "Khun Nu" (elite young lady) has been largely devoid of disappointment, except in academic and extracurricular arenas where she occasionally slips to second place. This is due to her formidable rival: Kantima.
Kantima, nicknamed Kawao, has been Yawi’s nemesis since their very first meeting. The friction began when the stoic Kawao sat at a table previously reserved by Yawi’s friends, Yam and Jelly. Jelly’s hot temper and Yam’s snobbish attitude quickly escalated the situation into a physical altercation. Although Yawi preferred to avoid the conflict, she stepped in to help her friends, only to end up with a broken fingernail. Her shocked scream caused Kawao to look her up and down with utter disdain. Since that day, the two have remained bitter rivals, constantly clashing as they share the same classroom.
