In the cold, mountainous highlands, Suea Phiang Fa is happily teaching music to local children. His peace is shattered by urgent news: his father, Chao Phaen Fa, has been assassinated.
Suea Phiang Fa returns to the city of Dala with a heart burning for revenge. His mother, Chao Soi Saeng, tries to calm his spirit, but he cannot find peace—especially after learning that his father was killed by a Thai drug mafia boss. Suea Phiang Fa contacts Cha Bin, an old friend from his scholarship days, and secretly travels down to Bangkok to see the face of his father's killer.
Cha Bin takes Suea Phiang Fa to a shopping mall. The moment he spots Wansai shopping, he is instantly captivated by her. However, when Cha Bin points out the notorious drug lord Wanchat, the tender gaze Suea Phiang Fa held for Wansai—who is walking beside her father—instantly turns to cold hatred.
Wansai is completely unaware of her father's illicit business, as Wanchat has always shielded and pampered her. Her only true confidant and friend in the house is Setha Chana (or Pee Chana). Setha Chana has been tasked with leading a "Drug-Free Village" project, a mission fraught with obstacles. Every time the work makes progress, Wansai is the person he turns to for comfort and the encouragement he needs to keep going.
