Following the economic downturn in Thailand, the "Samphao Thong" agricultural products owned by Phromphong Samphao Thong have taken a significant hit. This forced Phongthep, Phromphong’s only son, to head out into the field to sell the products himself, accompanied by his close cousin and assistant, Jeng. Thanks to Phongthep’s good looks, charm, and clever wit, he is a natural salesman and receives a warm welcome from the locals.
While Phongthep and Jeng are out on the road, Phromphong calls to order his son home. He needs him to attend a welcoming party for Meihua, the beloved daughter of Sia Tek—a powerful godfather and Phromphong’s major creditor—who has just returned from abroad. Sia Tek has invited many guests to the event with a hidden agenda: he wants Meihua to choose a husband.
Meihua, however, is panicked by her father’s marriage plans. She is harboring a secret—she is over a month pregnant with a fellow student from her time abroad. When she meets Phongthep for the first time, she is instantly impressed by him and hatches a plan to find someone to take responsibility for her unborn child.
Meihua spikes Phongthep’s drink with a sedative and takes him to a bedroom. After removing his clothes, she runs downstairs crying, telling Sia Tek that Phongthep has assaulted her. Infuriated, Sia Tek orders his henchmen to kill Phongthep immediately. Meihua intervenes, subtly signaling her mother, Lianhua, to help convince Sia Tek that Phongthep should take responsibility instead. Ultimately, Sia Tek demands that Phongthep marry Meihua the very next day.
