Synopsis
Sekson, a television business executive, leads a team to investigate the legendary Emerald Scale Cave. He travels by private plane with Cherd. While flying over a dense forest, Cherd mockingly dismisses the legend of the emerald scales. Suddenly, the plane loses control and crashes deep in the jungle. Both Sekson and Cherd survive.
They encounter a young woman named Duangdao. As she guides them toward a village, Cherd wanders off and meets a woman named Plubplueng. Attempting to assault her, he is instead attacked when she transforms into a giant serpent and crushes him to death. This leads Sekson to suspect that the serpent is connected to the Emerald Scale Cave.
Sekson later meets Thong, Duangdao’s father, and a man named Ngo. Thong begs Sekson to take Duangdao away from the village. When Sekson asks why, Thong reveals a horrifying story:
The Emerald Scale Cave is home to the Emerald Scale Queen, an ancient being over a thousand years old. To preserve her beauty, she must drink the fresh blood of virgins—a sinful act. An old serpent sorceress (Mae Thao), whom the queen respects, once advised her to seek immortality through meditation and a fire ritual instead. The queen agreed but failed the ritual when Thong and villagers intruded into the cave searching for treasure. Enraged, she killed them all except Thong, whom Mae Thao spared, claiming she would deal with him herself.
In truth, Mae Thao had a past with Thong. Nearly 20 years earlier, she transformed into a woman after falling in love with him and bore him a daughter. She gave the baby girl to Thong along with a small emerald scale, instructing him to guard it with his life. That child is Duangdao.
Later, the queen captured Thong’s elder daughter, Tubtim, as a hostage. She imposed a condition: Duangdao must remain a virgin—if any man touches her, her body will turn into serpent scales. She must also lure virgin girls to the queen for blood until the queen is satisfied. For the sake of her sister’s life, Duangdao reluctantly obeys.
Desperate to escape, Duangdao follows Sekson to Bangkok. Before leaving, Thong gives her the emerald scale and warns her to keep it hidden, as it holds both power and danger.
In Bangkok, Duangdao’s natural beauty draws attention and jealousy, especially from Ranee, Sekson’s lover, and Srisuda. Only Sophita, Sekson’s sister, treats her kindly. Siva, Ranee’s brother and Sekson’s business partner, becomes attracted to Duangdao and wants her to be an actress. Sekson himself begins to fall in love with her, causing tension with Ranee.
Ranee and Srisuda discover the emerald scale and attempt to steal it. Eventually, Ranee smashes part of it, causing the Emerald Queen great pain. Their greed intensifies when a geologist confirms the scale is a rare mineral combining emerald and diamond.
The Emerald Queen then travels to Bangkok in disguise as a high-society woman named Aranyanee, accompanied by Mae Thao (disguised as a maid) and her serpent followers. Upon meeting Sekson, she falls in love, but her obsession disrupts her spiritual practices and revives her craving for virgin blood.
Meanwhile, Siva attempts to assault Duangdao, but she fights back, killing him. Her body begins turning into serpent scales. She reveals to Sekson that the curse will only be lifted when the Emerald Queen dies.
A group driven by greed—including Ranee, Srisuda, and others—sets out to find more emerald scales, eventually returning toward the cave. Chaos erupts as the queen, in serpent form, kills several of them, including Thong and Tubtim. Mae Thao is devastated.
In the final confrontation at the cave, the queen prepares to kill Sekson and Duangdao. Mae Thao intervenes, revealing that Duangdao is her daughter. A fierce battle ensues. The queen claims she can only be killed by a sacred mongoose fang.
As Mae Thao is dying, she asks Duangdao to throw her staff. When it breaks, it reveals the hidden mongoose fang. Sekson uses it to strike the queen, killing her. The cave collapses, ending her reign of terror.
When the dust settles, Duangdao’s body returns to normal—free from serpent scales. Sekson and Duangdao rejoice, realizing that love is a power greater than any other.
