Synopsis
“Heart Wound” is the story of Sarut (Kamon Siritharanon), a handsome young man who attracts many women, yet none have ever truly captured his heart.
One day, he meets Dahwan (Kunlathida Kanchanawat), and she immediately catches his attention. Later, Sarut discovers that she is the daughter of his older brother’s friend’s mistress. He also learns that Dahwan lives unhappily in her father’s house under the strict and fussy supervision of her grandmother, Khun Somying (Atcharapan Paibulsuwan), and with her stepmother, Worrawanna, who harbors deep resentment toward her.
Worrawanna secretly tries to push Dahwan toward Sarut, believing that Sarut is a playboy and that Dahwan will end up heartbroken—just as she once was. She constantly spreads rumors in the household, accusing Dahwan of improper behavior, especially involving Thongthiw (Nattanun Khunwat). At first, Somying believes these claims, but eventually she begins to see through Worrawanna’s true nature.
Meanwhile, Sarut is close to another woman, Nim-anong (Sruangsuda Lawanprasert), the younger sister of his friend. Gentle and skilled in domestic matters, Nim-anong mistakenly believes that Sarut is her boyfriend, even though he has never said so.
With Thongthiw’s help, Dahwan finds a job. After Sarut’s aunt, Unruen, passes away, Sarut and Dahwan grow closer. Dahwan longs to see a picture of her mother, which Worrawanna has always kept from her. Sarut helps her finally see it, leaving Dahwan deeply grateful to him.
Unexpectedly, Sarut asks his mother to formally propose marriage to Dahwan. Shocked, Dahwan consults Thongthiw, and for the first time feels conflicted and somewhat resentful about the situation. During the wedding preparations, Somying takes the lead, and through this, Dahwan begins to realize that her grandmother is not as harsh as she once thought. They come to understand each other better.
The one most affected by the marriage is Nim-anong. She transforms herself into a modern woman and openly declares rivalry with Dahwan. At the wedding, many women are present, but the one who unsettles Dahwan the most is Nim-anong, as she believes Sarut truly loves her.
After marriage, Sarut and Dahwan live together in name only, as Sarut still doubts her due to the rumors involving Thongthiw that Worrawanna had planted. Later, Sarut has to attend a trade exhibition in Japan and invites Dahwan to go with him, but she refuses.
When Nim-anong learns of the trip, she plans to follow Sarut, but he sees through her plan and does not board the plane. When Sarut returns home, Dahwan is nowhere to be found. In truth, she has gone to see Somying after misunderstanding Sarut, triggered by Nim-anong’s call implying she would be traveling with him.
In the end, the question remains: how will the emotional wounds in both their hearts be healed?
