Synopsis
This is the story of two sisters from the “Ban Ratchadamri” family, whose personalities are completely different. The elder sister, Srichitra (Intira Daengjamroon), is gentle and proper like her mother, while the younger sister, Salin (Sunisa Jett), is stubborn and strong-willed like her father.
After their father passes away, the two sisters are separated. Srichitra must remain at Ban Ratchadamri and obey her aunt in every aspect of life, while Salin goes to live with her grandparents at their garden house, where she enjoys the freedom to live as she wishes.
Salin works as a librarian. One day, she meets Phon (Sarawut Mardthong), who works for an oil company and has come to inspect the local gas stations. He wanders into the garden without permission, and the two quickly get along. Salin introduces him to her grandparents. Her grandfather likes Phon, but her grandmother immediately shows that she is protective of her granddaughter.
When Salin visits her mother and sister at Ban Ratchadamri, she discovers that Srichitra is being forced into an arranged marriage to become a royal daughter-in-law. Srichitra is sent to learn proper etiquette at Wutthiwet Palace, the residence of M.R. Kittiratchanarin, also known as Chai Rong (Saharat Sangkapreecha). Srichitra can only accept her fate silently.
Salin believes her sister is satisfied with the marriage because Srichitra shows no resistance. However, Chai Rong is not happy about the marriage either, because he already has a lover, Ying Koi. Still, he cannot refuse, as it is the wish of the royal elder. This is partly because M.R. Direkratchawit, or Chai To, has already taken a servant named Jaruey as his wife, while M.R. Bodinthararatchasongphon, or Chai Lek (Sarawut Mardthong), lives freely and refuses to be under anyone’s control.
The main reason for Chai Rong’s marriage to Srichitra is that the royal elder disapproves of Chai Rong’s lover, M.R. Thewisaengphen, or Ying Koi, because she had been married before. But Ying Koi is Chai Rong’s first love. When Chai Rong and Srichitra meet, his coldness deeply hurts her. He does not even greet her. However, Chai Lek’s cheerful personality helps Srichitra feel less lonely.
Before long, Srichitra becomes heartbroken when Jaruey tells her that Chai Rong already has someone he loves.
Later, Salin brings fruit to her sister at Chai Rong’s house. There, she sees a man and woman acting affectionately toward each other. They look down on her and insult her as a country girl, so she reveals that she is the bride’s younger sister. Salin immediately realizes who they are: her sister’s future groom and his former lover. Ying Koi screams in shock.
Feeling sorry for her sister, Salin begins planning to stop the wedding. She consults Phon, who advises her to find a way to make Chai Rong stop loving his former lover. But Salin does not know that Phon is actually Chai Lek, the younger princely brother of her sister’s future groom.
Ying Koi is furious that Chai Rong hid the marriage from her. Chai Rong goes to her house to make up with her, but she refuses to come down. Wanting to win, Ying Koi pretends to be involved with Atsanee, her former husband, just to make Chai Rong jealous. Chai Rong, however, is too proud to continue pleading with her.
Chai Rong later goes to see Salin and tells her that he will marry Srichitra and end his relationship with Ying Koi. Salin begins to feel sympathy for him and agrees to help with Ying Koi. When Ying Koi hears from Atsanee that Chai Rong often visits Salin, she goes to Salin’s workplace to confront her.
Chai Rong learns that Ying Koi suspects him and Salin, so he decides to pretend that her suspicions are true in order to get revenge. Meanwhile, Atsanee begins pursuing Salin and invites her to work at his newly opened nightclub. Salin agrees only on the condition that Chai Rong and Ying Koi reconcile first.
Ying Koi becomes angry that Salin, an ordinary woman, seems to attract everyone around her. She leaks news to the newspapers about Atsanee and Salin. This makes Chai Rong unhappy, and he begins acting jealous, which greatly surprises Salin.
Atsanee creates a plan to remove Chai Rong from Salin’s life. He sends Ying Koi a bouquet of white orchids tied with a pearl necklace, pretending that it is from Chai Rong, and arranges a dinner meeting. When the truth is later revealed and Ying Koi realizes that Chai Rong was not the one who sent it, she angrily tears off the necklace and throws it at him. Her selfishness becomes clear, and the emotional bond between them completely breaks.
Troubled and confused, Chai Rong goes to see Salin. He realizes that he is jealous and, before she leaves, he impulsively kisses her. Salin becomes very confused because she realizes she has feelings for Chai Rong.
Chai Rong then goes to the royal elder and refuses to marry Srichitra, admitting that he has fallen in love with Salin. The royal elder is displeased, and the situation causes great embarrassment for Srichitra. Devastated, she runs away from home and almost gets hit by a car, but Chai Lek saves her in time.
Salin takes leave from work to avoid Chai Rong because he is supposed to be her sister’s fiancé, and she does not want to hurt Srichitra. However, the problem is eventually resolved when Chai Lek realizes that his heart belongs to Srichitra, and Srichitra also has feelings for him. Chai Lek tells the royal elder that he loves Srichitra and wants to marry her.
With this, the chaos finally settles. Chai Rong asks the royal elder to arrange his wedding quickly because he is afraid Salin might change her mind. Meanwhile, Chai Lek and Srichitra are also expected to marry soon.
