Krai Kum Node

Tarika Butsabong, or Mae Nim, is the youngest daughter of the high-ranking noble Chao Phraya Botman Bamroerak and a mother of royal descent (Mom Ratchawong). She is the most beautiful among her sisters, earning her the nickname "Mae Hong Thong" (Golden Swan) from her father. Everyone predicts a radiant future and greater fortune for her than any of her siblings, but the tides of fate are unpredictable.

The Turning Point

Tarika's life takes a sharp turn when she is married off to Thithacha, the son of a rising politician in the post-1932 revolution era. Her ordeal begins on the very night of her wedding, as the groom suffers a near-fatal accident. Shortly after, her father falls ill and passes away. Without his protection and prestige, Tarika’s world crumbles. Her family of nearly twenty siblings is scattered, and she finds herself unable to find any happiness within her new household.

A Storm of Fate

From that moment on, a storm of destiny sweeps Tarika along. She is forced to navigate a series of hardships, clinging only to her honor and self-respect to survive.
The story poses a haunting question about the nature of her life:
If Tarika’s life was written by a "God," as some believe, then that God must be quite mischievous to never allow her path to run smooth. But if her life was shaped by "Karma," as others hold true, then Tarika must have woven a remarkably complex web of deeds in her past...
