Khon La Lok

Tibet, a young man from Southern Thailand, earns a living in the capital city working as a bellboy at a famous hotel. It is here that Tibet experiences his first love. He falls deeply for Khonmekhala Sakkara, the niece of Khun Ying Srimuang, the hotel's owner. However, Tibet must keep his feelings in check because he and Khonmekhala are like people living in different worlds.
Driven by this reality, Tibet becomes determined to achieve wealth one day so he can finally claim her as his own. He brings his half-sister, But, to work for Khun Nilsri, Khun Ying Srimuang’s daughter-in-law. But is hired as a cleaner. To be closer to work, Tibet moves his mother, Ranjuon, and But from their dorm to a small rented wooden house.
Kanon, Khun Nilsri’s son, has a habit of summoning female employees to his room. He eventually rapes But; despite her resistance, she is unable to overpower him. Devastated, she feels that life in the city is cruel—a "world of beasts" that is a far cry from the "clean, white world" she left behind.
When Tibet finds out, he confronts Kanon, demanding he take responsibility. Kanon, dismissive and arrogant, tells Tibet they are not on the same level and tries to pay him off to stay quiet. Infuriated, Tibet curses Kanon for treating people as if they aren't human. Kanon retaliates with a vile slur, calling Tibet an "animal." Overhearing this, Tibet tells But to forget the incident, bitterly remarking that being raped by an animal shouldn't be held against her.
Before the situation escalates further, Khonmekhala intervenes. Tibet locks eyes with her, his gaze filled with vengeance, before walking away. Upon learning that Tibet has resigned, Khonmekhala visits his home to offer financial aid and an apology for what happened. However, Tibet refuses to listen and chases her away, declaring that they are all the same. Since that day, she hears nothing more from them.
Khonmekhala eventually agrees to marry Puran, the son of Khun Nilobon, at Khun Ying Srimuang’s request. Though Puran appears wealthy, it is merely a facade. Khonmekhala is unaware that Khun Nilobon’s true intention is for Puran to extort as much money as possible from her to pay off their mounting debts.
