Synopsis
Nid is a petty thief—quick and agile—earning her the nickname “Wild Cat.” One day, she snatches a bag at a train station. Inspector Chaiya chases after her but fails to catch her, and Nid even manages to take his gun. The next day, while playing with children in front of the police station, Nid is finally caught by Chaiya, who then realizes she is a girl. Nid bargains for her release with a kiss and promises to return the gun.
The village headman reveals that Nid is the daughter of Nang Sai, the former wife of the bandit Suea Kloi. Believing Nid to be a police informant, Suea Kloi tries to harm her and denies being her father. Meanwhile, the police track him down. During the arrest, Chaiya is shot, but Nid arrives just in time to save him. The police capture Suea Kloi and Nang Sai and send them to prison, while taking Nid in. She is entrusted to Chanin, Chaiya’s younger sister, and given a new name: Premwadee. However, Ranee, Chaiya’s fiancée, dislikes Nid.
Nid soon clashes with Pichet, Ranee’s friend, leading to a fight witnessed by Than Chai Kittikhun. Chaiya later sends Nid to study in Bangkok. There, she is mistreated and bullied by people in the household but endures it. Ranee spreads Nid’s past to others, and although Than Chai learns the truth, he does not despise her. When Chaiya arrives, he scolds Nid, accusing her of misbehavior without listening to her explanation. Hurt and angry, Nid runs away from home.
She wanders aimlessly and is even pickpocketed, leaving her without money to buy food. A woman helps pay for her meal, but when Nid follows her, she discovers it is actually a brothel. Nid manages to escape with the help of Thun, who has come to rescue Riam, another woman who was tricked into working there. Nid then stays with Thun and Riam until Than Chai finds them.
Meanwhile, Thun’s aunt and uncle had once lost their only daughter, who was kidnapped by a servant. Riam begins to suspect that Nid might be that lost child, as she notices that Nid closely resembles a portrait of the lady of the house in her youth.
