Synopsis
In a person's life, there are often at least two things always on their mind: love and hatred. Fulfillment in love naturally brings satisfaction to the receiver, while jealousy and hatred leave those trapped in them devoid of happiness.
Sajee was born and raised in humble circumstances. "Nang Juk," as the villagers commonly called her, was Sajee’s birth mother. She loved her mother with all her heart, and her mother loved her more than her own life. Yet, her mother was an example of someone hopeless in life—someone without refuge among people, who could only wait and hope for some miracle to improve her condition.
But Sajee... looked at everything around her with intense, yet silent, ambition. She knew well that if she hoped for "other hands"—whether human or divine—her hopes would never come to fruition. Therefore... when Sajee wanted something, she had to use her own hands and brain. She soared (with desire) violently. There was no love, no hatred—only the driving desire to reach her goal, only the act of rising up to fight with sheer pride alone.
Supan, Kamkaew, Cheewin, Ratchaneechai, Khun Ying Arunwatee, Khun Prajit—everyone was on her path. They were competitors to vie with, examples to learn from, stepping stones, bridges, and opportunities. Opportunities she seized without regard for anything else except... Now, it's my turn.
And so, Sajee came to be addressed as "Khun Ying Supasajee." Everything went according to her desires. Even the marriage registration, which she did not want, had to happen that way. Sajee became a full-fledged "Khun Ying Nok Thamniap" (A Lady Outside the Establishment/Unofficial Lady).
She began to truly understand the words of Khun Ying Arunwatee—the lady who nurtured her, the lady who taught her to be a "Khun Ying" in every inch—who said, "Honor is a hot thing." She was weary from the responsibility of maintaining honor—both her own, which required building more prestige, and that of others. Yet, she kept trying, trying amidst her confusion.
In truth, what did her life really want?
Certainly, Sajee had acquired almost everything—except for one thing: respect from the heart! And for that thing, from whom could Sajee find the answer? Is it possible... for a person to exist and be ambitious without love!
