Synopsis

Luk is the son of Lord Narunatmaitri, an ambassador, and Lady Sri. Because of his father's profession, the family frequently relocated abroad. During his childhood, Luk noticed that his parents' relationship was strained, and they often acted distant toward each other.
When Lord Narunatmaitri returned to Thailand, this estrangement became even more apparent when he brought another woman into their home. Afterward, Luk was sent to study abroad. Not long after, his mother sent word that his father was gravely ill. Luk returned to Thailand to visit him and discovered the truth: the other woman, Khun Khae, was his father's second wife, and Luk had a younger half-brother named Piman.
His father passed away shortly after. Before his death, he expressed his wish for Luk to study political science and follow in his footsteps. However, holding a grudge against his father, Luk ignored this request and returned abroad to continue his studies. Later, his half-brother, Piman, was sent to study with him. Although Luk preferred partying over studying, he was surprisingly strict with Piman's education, ensuring Piman took the subjects their father had desired. Furthermore, Luk showered Piman with love and took excellent care of him.
Sometime later, Khun Khae sent news that Luk's mother was severely ill and urged him to return immediately. Unfortunately, he arrived too late; she had already passed away. Before her death, she had entrusted Luk to Khun Khae's care. Khun Khae treated Luk with the maternal love and respect appropriate for an elder caring for a younger family member, ensuring that the household remained harmonious.
Luk grew up to be a man well-versed in both the good and dark sides of life. After completing his studies, he took over his mother's family business. Using his sharp wit and business acumen, he made the enterprise highly prosperous. While his relatives never faulted his work, they frequently criticized his playboy behavior, with their complaints always reaching Khun Khae. This prompted Khun Khae to try and find perfectly suitable, well-rounded women for both Luk and his brother to marry.
When her attempts to find a wife for Luk failed, Khun Khae shifted her focus to finding a wife for Piman, hoping that marrying a flawless woman would help him secure a position as an ambassador. However, Piman refused, as he already had a woman he loved. Khun Khae then sought help from Luk and Khun At, Luk's longtime secretary. Wanting Piman to follow in their father's footsteps, Luk agreed to intervene. He approached Rojaret, the woman Piman loved, and demanded she break up with his brother. He offered her 250,000 baht and, to completely sever ties, proposed a marriage of convenience between himself and Rojaret. He promised to divorce her once he was certain Piman had safely married Nattha, the "perfect" woman Khun Khae had chosen.
Even though Rojaret was a woman of high honor and dignity, she desperately needed the money to redeem her family's mortgaged house and to help her older brother, Kai, who was involved in a political revolution. Luk, who never truly valued people and believed that money could buy everything—including a person's life—assumed Rojaret was just like any other woman willing to do anything for money.
When Rojaret moved in with Luk, Piman was heartbroken and reluctantly agreed to marry Nattha to fulfill Khun Khae's wishes, even though the two had no love for each other. Meanwhile, Rojaret's presence in Luk's house brought about positive changes in his life. Their relationship gradually improved, evolving from mutual dislike to genuine affection. Later, Luk brought a young child named Margie to live with them, telling Rojaret that Margie was his daughter with a woman named Eleanor. In reality, Margie was Piman's child, born during his time studying abroad.
Rojaret loved and cared for Margie as if she were her own. Eventually, Luk and Rojaret fell deeply in love, and she became pregnant. Tragically, Margie passed away shortly after, leaving them both devastated. Sometime later, Luk and Rojaret had a major fallout. He misunderstood that she still harbored feelings for Piman and suspected another man whose photo was kept at the head of her bed (the photo was actually of Kai's child, her nephew). Heartbroken, Rojaret moved back to her orchard home. However, Luk's deep love for her drove him to seek her out, apologize, and clear up the misunderstanding. They finally reconciled and lived happily together.
